The captains' abilities and the guides' experience will allow you to discover the beauties of the Delta. nature park of the po delta The journey will take you along the Po of Goro until you first reach the Old Lantern (once used by navigators and now a very practical bird-watching station) and then the New Lighthouse, built in the 1950s on the Island of Love; all the while, you will be surrounded by vast reed thickets and an extremely rich water fauna. At the river's mouth, you will be able to admire the magic embrace between river and sea. Also worth seeing are: the Bay of Goro (also known as Bay of the Scardovari), where mussels and clams are farmed; the stretch of the Po of Volano (also known as Damsel's Po); the Island of Love; the Island of Seagulls; the Valley of Gorino, whose innumerable birds include species that can only be found here. Among them are: purple/ white/ and grey herons, little egrets, nycticoraxes, the solitary marsh harriers, buzzards, avocets, shelduck, and the very rare sea pies. All this makes a visit to the land of herons, even just a short one, both unique and an experience not to be missed!
Mesola Wood
A hunting ground for the d'Este family for over two centuries, the Wood has developed along ancient dunes

Only slightly more than a thousand hectares remain of the original forest, which is mainly composed of holm-oaks, some hygrophilous plants growing between dunes, and some bay-oaks in the westernmost area. The presence of an indigenous population of deer is of great interest. Only a portion of the Wood is open to the public (on Saturdays and Sundays).

The Great Mesola Wood (located in the province of Ferrara) is a designated nature reserve where flora and fauna have retained the aspect they had prior to human intervention.

Pomposa
This is one of Italy's most important monasteries. It was built between the 6th and 7th centuries by Benedictine monks.
The splendid architecture of the atrium and the bell tower, both wholly made of brick (a typical material of the Po Delta), as well as the precious frescos in the basilica, the canteen, and the main stairwell painted in the 14th century by the Bolognese and Riminese schools of art make the building one of the most important examples of romantic art in Italy.

It was while immersed in the silence of such a setting that Guido Monaco invented musical notes.

Ferrara
A must for all who come to the Delta, Ferrara was for four centuries the uninterrupted seat of the d'Este court. Its precious monuments and magnificent urban layout make it possible to visit the city in its entirety: from the Renaissance quarters (which include the Streets of the "Addizione Erculea", the Crossroad of the Angels with the famous Palace of Diamonds [Palazzo dei Diamanti], Avenue Ercole d'Este I [Corso Ercole I° d'Este], Piazza Ariostea), to the intricate mesh of the roads in the Medieval section (which includes the d'Este Castle [Castello Estense], the Cathedral, the stretch from Via San Romano to the Jewish Ghetto and on to the city walls).

Comacchio
Comacchio, a quaint lagoon town, is the most fascinating urban centre. A walk along the valley's canals, where tools used by fishermen and workers (antique items used for capturing fish) are on display, will expose you to the fascinating world of eels.

Mesola
Close to the Po is Mesola Castle, the summer residence of the d'Este family which was built at the end of the 16th century near Abbot's Tower, an antique hydraulic construction dating to the 17th century. Today, the Castle hosts the Park's Centre for Environmental Education. Central to the d'Este Reclamation Project, the Great Mesola Wood extends for over 1,000 hectares of thick growth that includes the holm-oaks, bay-oaks, hornbeams, ashes, alders, fallow deer, and deer. These plants and animals served as a backdrop for the hunting parties of the Dukes and Duchesses of yore. Today, the area offers a view of the Delta framed by historical, natural, and morphological aspects.
